Many skin diseases respond to specialized therapy with ultraviolet light rays (UVLT).   At Lee’s Summit Dermatology Associates, ULTL is used to treat a variety of skin disorders: psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, itching, lymphomas and other skin disorders.

We are able to provide highly individualized UVLT with 2 light therapy units.  Capabilities include PUVA and narrow-band UVB therapy.  PUVA (psoralen plus ultraviolet light type A) involves application or ingestion of medication prior to the administration of a specific dose of ultraviolet light.  Narrow-band UVLT is the most recent light therapy that provides a narrow spectrum of ultraviolet B light with less risk of burning. UVLT is provided by the highly trained staff under the direct supervision of Dr. McEwen.  Dr. McEwen  has been successfully treating patients with light therapy since 1993.
