Scars

Scarring can take on many forms. Some scars are raised and some are pitted. Usually there is a cause such as acne, a bug bite, a surgical procedure, or stretch marks from pregnancy. Some scars, however, can seem to form spontaneously. Evaluation by a dermatologist is essential. Treatment of scars is individualized at our office, based on the location and characteristics of the scar. At times, a silicone gel is recommended, and at other times, prescriptive medication, corticosteroid injections or laser may be the best options.
